This year is especially meaningful: I am celebrating five years of survivorship and my fifth year fundraising for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition’s Together in TEAL® event—two milestones I never take for granted.

At 38, I was diagnosed with Stage 3A low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC), a rare and chronic disease with few treatment options and an 85% recurrence rate. My journey has been filled with loss and resilience—but also with purpose. I fight not only for myself, but also in honor of my dear friend and first mentee, Jordan, who passed away at just 33. Before she died, Jordan told me: “I’m glad you’re fighting for awareness of this disease. I just don’t have it in me right now. Thank you. I love you.” I carry those words with me every day, and I promised her I would continue this fight—for her, for myself, and for every woman still waiting for earlier detection, better treatments, and hope.

Your donation fuels that fight. Funds raised for the NOCC support life-saving research, expand awareness of ovarian cancer’s subtle signs and symptoms, and provide critical resources for survivors and caregivers. Every dollar brings us closer to a world where fewer women face this devastating disease—and more survivors can reach their own five-year milestones.
