Make A Difference with Your Miles!

In 1998 my grandma Fran Goldenberg ran the NYC Marathon and at just a few weeks old I was there to celebrate with her at the finish line. Now nearly 28 years later and 16 years after she died from stage four ovarian cancer, I plan to run the NYC marathon to honor her memory and to help raise awareness and funding for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition with Team Teal.

My grandma had a runner's run mentality. That meant that regardless of the weather, her mood or any other life circumstance she was going to get out there to go on a run. Though I never got to ask her, I like to think that this was more of a life motto. She was going to do whatever was necessary to reach her goals, despite any obstacles. It's one that I've adopted in working towards my dreams, including running this marathon.

Her other belief was that you can do anything if you know that there's an end point. 26 miles seems like a lot because it is. But with your encouragement and tax deductible donation you'll not only be working to end ovarian cancer, but you'll be helping me to cross the finish line. Thank you for your support.
