Make A Difference with Your Miles!

My name is Kayla, and I’m running the 2026 New York City Marathon with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Team Teal. I ran with Team Teal in 2023, and I’m back again because this fight is deeply personal.

I’m running in loving memory of my Aunt Peggy, who passed away 05/25/2024 after bravely battling ovarian cancer for years, and in loving memory of my grandmother Maw, who passed away on 02/14/2026. She was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in 2019. Many people don’t realize the average life expectancy is only about 5 years, with less than half of women reaching that milestone. Maw fought for over 7 years through multiple recurrences and countless rounds of chemotherapy. Even in her hardest moments, she showed a level of strength and courage that continues to inspire me every day. She always had a smile on her face and showed up for everyone else, even while she was in pain. I carry her love and resilience with me every mile.

I’m running for them, for my family, and for every woman facing this disease. Your donation helps fund life-saving research, support patients, and bring hope to families who desperately need it. Please consider giving — every dollar moves us closer to better treatments and one day, a cure. I run so their fight is never forgotten.
