This year, I am running 50K in the Wyoming Red Desert for NOCC TEAM TEAL because I want to raise awareness and funding for National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. My goal in the fundraising process is to help improve the outcome for people, like my Mom, who are in the midst of their battle with this cancer.Ovarian Cancer is one of the rarest female cancers, but is the 5th leading cause of cancer death among women. This is because it is often found in later stages due to a lack of screening tools and vague symptoms. Funding from your donations can help researchers improve screening tools and enhance treatment options.
While I'm raising awareness, here are some of the signs of ovarian cancer, since they are not often advertised:
- Abdominal bloating or swelling.
- Quickly feeling full when eating.
- Weight loss.
- Discomfort in the pelvic area.
- Fatigue.
- Back pain.
- Changes in bowel habits, such as constipation.
- A frequent need to urinate.
Will you please join me to help save lives by donating today?
