I’m Proud to Partner with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, when I began looking into organizations to partner with, I reached out to NOCC because they support the cancer community. When I began speaking with them, I was so surprised by what I found. Ovarian cancer ranks fifth in cancer deaths among women, yet I had never heard of the disease. Additionally, there are no screening tests that will detect ovarian cancer. After hearing more about ovarian cancer and listening to stories of inspiration from survivors, I knew that I wanted to be a part of spreading early awareness and education of this disease so that more women, families, and health care providers recognize the risks, signs, and symptoms and can better advocate for their health and the health of their loved ones.
I Advocate for Women Everywhere
My partnership with NOCC as an Ambassador is to spread early awareness and education on and off the track. As a female in a male-dominated sport, there are a lot of female fans who connect with me and my story. Just as I advocate for more women in the sport, I want to advocate for women's health around the world. If one person who follows my career recognizes a risk, sign, or symptom and can better advocate for their health, then my work is worth its weight in gold.
