Introduction to Family House and Our Services

Kyalie Mizerak, Clinical Marketing Coordinator at Family House, will provide an overview of Family House and the services they offer to support patients and their families during treatment. Kyalie will share how Family House partners with healthcare providers, the resources available on-site, and tips for accessing support throughout the cancer journey. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how Family House can serve as a resource and safe haven during challenging times.

Kyalie is a graduate from Grove City College, where she earned a degree in Communication Arts. In her role as Clinical Marketing Director, she serves as a liaison between Family House and its healthcare partners. Prior to joining the staff full-time in May 2025, she dedicated ten years as a volunteer at Family House.

Session 1: Ovarian Cancer Treatment Landscape and New Horizons

This presentation will discuss the latest updates on recently approved ovarian cancer treatments and ongoing trial opportunities, setting the stage for new therapies on the horizon.

Sarah Taylor, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor, Gynecologic Oncology, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC

Dr. Sarah Taylor is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC. In addition to her clinical practice, her research focuses on the development and implementation of clinical trials. She serves as both a national and local principal investigator on numerous studies, including investigator-initiated trials.

Dr. Taylor is the Director of Clinical Research for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and the Leader of the Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Trials Program within the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Early Phase Program. She is also the Co-Director of the Phase I program at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, the NRG Oncology Phase I Site Leader, and the Gynecologic Oncology Site Principal Investigator. Additionally, she serves as the gynecologic organ site lead for the National Cancer Institute Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network Program at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.

She works closely with translational research colleagues to develop investigator-initiated trials and is a principal investigator on the Ovarian Cancer SPORE. Her collaborations extend to the Women's Cancer Research Group at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, where interdisciplinary teams focus on quality of life, health services research, and patient-reported outcomes. This work is essential to addressing all aspects of cancer care and has enabled the integration of quality of life and patient-reported outcomes into nontraditional settings, including early-phase trials.

Allison Reddy, MS, RDN, LDN

Founder, Always Reddy Nutrition

Allison Reddy earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from West Chester University of PA. She then completed a dietetic internship at WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV and went on to pursue and graduate with her Master's Degree in Nutrition in 2022 from Stony Brook University. She then founded Always Reddy Nutrition, which strives to provide weight-inclusive nutrition therapy, non-diet, trauma-informed care. Her counseling style is warm and engaging, and she'll work to rediscover what matters most to you and that food is more than just fuel.

Session 3: Beautiful Together

Together we will explore skin care needs before, during, and after treatment to best maintain & reinforce the skin barrier. Learn valuable self-care tips to look and feel your best while focusing on your recovery and future health.

Mary Kay Independent Senior Sales Director & Ovarian Cancer Survivor

Laureen has been an Independent Beauty Consultant & Senior Director with Mary Kay for almost 33 years. Her purpose has always been to empower women through feeling confident in their personal image and style. Laureen is also an ovarian cancer survivor and was diagnosed in March 2020. Because of her personal and professional experiences, she is a strong advocate for proactively incorporating integrative wellness practices.





Session 4: ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation: Helping You Live Well Beyond Cancer

ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation addresses the many symptoms that a cancer patient can experience. 90% of cancer patients have at least one symptom from their cancer journey, yet less than 10% of these individuals seek care for their symptoms. With ReVital focused care, NovaCare has helped many people reduce pain and fatigue, improve balance and mobility, build strength and endurance, enhance memory and concentration, and much more! This presentation will outline what ReVital can do for you and how you can get started with NovaCare to learn more!

Kristen is a veteran Physical Therapist within the NovaCare system and has diligently completed several courses to enhance her care provision abilities throughout her career. She has obtained certifications in Lymphedema, LSVT BIG for Parkinson's, ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation and has assisted many patients needing specialized care. Kristen is passionate about not only treating for these indications, but also presenting to groups of all kinds to spread the word about her ability to make people feel better.
