Ride for Di

with Action...there is HOPE!

Cora & I (Amanda) have been best friends since kindergarten! We grew up together in the "cul-de-sac"!

Together, we are bicycling 40 miles through all 5 Boroughs of NY to raise money and awareness for the NOCC as part of Team Teal in honor of my mom, Diane- who we lost very suddenly to ovarian cancer this January.  I miss her every moment of every day. She was so active and full of life—she absolutely would have done this ride with us (and probably far outpaced me!).

When talking with her family about our plans- Cora found out her great-grandmother, Helen, also passed from ovarian cancer- her mom adored her grandmother and has shared so many amazing family stories with Cora. If you know Cora you know how close she was to her Grandma Joan (Helen's daughter) who was so full of life and passion- Grandma Joan would be so proud of Cora and thrilled she is riding to honor Helen and Diane! (And Diane & Joan were buddies thru our elementary years)- both women loved to have fun and lots of laughs!!

My mom faced everything with incredible strength, bravery, and grace.  When I said to her, I didn't think I could do it (handle cancer the way she did)- she immediately replied to me "Oh you absolutely could, you are so much stronger than you know." So now, I am trying to listen to her and channel my grief into movement.

Ovarian cancer is a sneaky disease, often caught too late and it is very treatment resistant. We need better screening, earlier detection, safer treatments—and ultimately, a cure.

We are riding to raise awareness and critical funding to support women and families impacted by this disease—through research, patient support, and programs that truly make a difference through the NOCC.

If you’re able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation or sharing this page. Your support helps save lives.

We are riding for my mom—and for every family who shouldn’t have to go through this 💙
